Quo Vadis > Help out
The Education Empowerment Project (EEP) is currently filling volunteer positions for 2007.
We are seeking people who wish to participate in the work of the EEP and collaborate with other
dedicated and enthusiastic individuals. Those who work for the EEP live across North America and
are almost all volunteers.
Our largest project currently is the organization of
the annual week long event called Quo Vadis. Quo Vadis' success is made possible
by the group of committed volunteers who organize and coordinate the many
aspects of the gathering.
If you are interested in joining the team of dedicated volunteers who make
Quo Vadis a reality or would like more information, please contact us!
Currently available positions
Schedule Coordinator
The Schedule Coordinator is one of the most important positions in the Quo Vadis staff. They are responsible for creating a schedule that includes all the meals, participant-led workshops, group events, a nd other activities that make up the week. By default, they have a great deal of responsibility for the feeling, and flow of the hour to hour life at the gathering. The Schedule Coordinator will help to direct the focus of Quo Vadis, working to expand the relevance and increase the attractiveness of the week's offerings. The job is much more than just putting all the activities of the week on the big schedule. In addition to scheduling participant-led workshops, they will actively recruit people to lead requested workshops and aspire to strike a balance between a number of opposing schedule demands, such as structure vs. spontaneity.
Directory Coordinator
The Directory Coordinator is responsible for creating the Quo Vadis directory.
Transportation Coordinator
The Transportations Coordinator is accountable for knowing how everyone is getting to and from the gathering. They rent vehicles to transports supplies and people to and from the site, and set up any necessary accommodations for people traveling to the gathering.
Menu Planner
The Quo Vadis Menu Planner designs the meals for the week, creates the shopping list of all the necessary ingredients, and provides recipes and written instruction for every meal.
Kitchen Coordinator
The Kitchen Coordinator manages the kitchen during the gathering. They make sure that there is a small team of people signed up to cook the day's meals, assist with preparation as needed and is the go-to person for food and kitchen related questions.
Dish Coordinator
The Dish Coordinator makes sure that at the end of every meal, all the dishes, glasses, forks, spoons, pots, pans, trays, ladles, knives, mixing boles and what ever else was dirtied during the preparation and consumption of the meal are clean, dry and put away. This means getting the people to do the dish washing and making sure they do a good job.
